Aqua & White 1960's Sarmi Sample Evening Gown w/ Patent Belt

Product Description

Last year we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to purchase over 120 gowns and cocktail dresses from the estate of Leonard Gold, former CFO of Sarmi. Over the next few months we will be adding them all to Vintageous and you will see everything from chic and elegant chiffon toga gowns to wacky op-art shifts, to cellophane embroidered laces, gowns in some of the most stunning, lavish fabrics you have ever seen to simple poly day dresses.
This was a Sarmi sample dress and has a tag that says the style number (415) and "Sell Sample" as well as a pencilled in price of $495 (yep, that's right, even as a sample in the 1960's this dress cost $495). Bodice is lined in soft silk. There is a fitted, chiffon topped heavy silk crepe underskirt attached to the gown. Rear nylon zipper. "Designed by Sarmi New York," label.
Size: 33" bust, 26" waist (high waist... approximately 12" from shoulder to waist seam), 36" hips. Approximately 56" from shoulder to hem.

Condition: In good condition. Freshly cleaned, however the patent belt is a little grungy (gave it a wipe with a damp rag, but it probably needs a leather wipe or something). There is a group of small holes in the bottom third of the skirt at the left side (fortunately they do not stand out when on). Tiniest bit of yellow remains on the right shoulder edge. Also, there are slits in the organdy along the hemline edge (hemming it an inch will eliminate this, or you could make this a mini and eliminate all of the holes completely).
