Fabulous Pumpkin Tulle & Ivory Lace 1960's Ballgown with Velvet Trim.

Product Description

A stunning early 1960s ballgown in a hard to find color. Pumpkin colored tulle lined in coral acetate with a slightly brighter orange velvet trim at the bust and waist. Strapless, heart shaped bodice with pleated bust and waist and lace trim at the midsection. Gown has a very full tulle skirt (shown here with a small bridal hoop... not included). As mentioned earlier, the dress is lined in acetate. The bodice is boned for support.  Rear metal zipper. This dress does not appear to have originally been strapless.  It probably originally had a sheer yoke and sleeve of some sort. This is not apparent at all when wearing the dress. Upon inspection you can see where the tulle has been trimmed at the zipper placket (see photo). You can also see where the tulle has been tacked on the inside top edge of the bodice. Again there is no other visible evidence on the outside of the dress that would prevent it from being worn strapless.

Size: 36" bust, 26" waist, free hips. Approximately 54" from underarm to hem.

Condition: In good condition. There is a notch shaped tear in the tulle at the bottom left side of the hem.  There is also a very very small (half the size of a pea) hole in the left side of the skirting. Three tiny gray dots left side of skirt. Two small notches in tulle at rear left hip.
