Stavropoulos Asymmetrical Strapless Gown & Cocoon Top
Price ... $950 SOLD

George Stavropoulos was born in Greece and studied dress design in Paris. He had a well-known custom salon in Athens from 1949-1960. He married Greek-American and came to New York in 1961, where he opened a house on 57th street. Stavropoulos is known for draped and tiered evening gowns, asymmetrical folds, wrapped coats, kimono sleeves, floating panels, capes, bias jerseys. Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson was among his distinguished clients.

This smashing gown is so quintessentially Stavropoulos. The gown is tiered and draped so gracefully... truly a work of art! The gown is fully lined in emerald green chiffon. Matching sheer cocoon top has kimono sleeves and tie closures top and bottom. "Stavropoulos, New York. Athens" label. In excellent condition.

Bust: 32" Waist & Hips: Due to the construction of the gown, these measurements are free. Length: 52" from top of bodice to longest point of skirt.
