GORGEOUS Pleated Marquisette One Shouldered 1940's Evening Gown

Product Description

A gorgeous 1940's gown in ivory marquisette. Pleated, fitted asymmetrical bodice with shoulder sash. Gown has a sweeping, pleated bias skirt. Dress is lined in acetate but is still quite sheer (the line you see in the photos at the hip is the seam of the mannequin showing thorugh). Side metal zipper. String belt loops but no belt. Label reads, "Mademoiselle of California."

Size: 31" bust, 22 1/2" waist, free hips. Approximately 58" from shoulder to hem at the shortest point (about 61" at the longest point).

Condition: In good condition. Although, I typically prefer not to soak in straight chlorine bleach, this dress has a lingering chlorine smell that leads me to beleive that this is what the previous owner did. A tiny red pin dot under the right arm. A 1/2" separation on the rear waist seam. Scattered pin holes (one on bodice, rest on skirt), mostly obscured by the volume of the dress. A couple of slightly larger holes in the skirt (all less than pea sized) but again, mostly obscured by the volume of fabric. This is not perma pleated and could possibly use the pleats pressed back in to place in a couple of areas. The hem is uneven and the lining sticks out in places, but thankfully this dress is very long so most women will need to hem it anyway.
