INCREDIBLE Red & Black Embroidered Tulle 1950's Cocktail Dress

Product Description

This is a FANTASTIC early 1950's evening dress in soft black tulle with red (debating whether this is a true red or a VERY dark magenta) embroidery. Sheer halter bodice with attached heart shaped strapless acetate liner. Tulle backed ties at rear of neck. Gown has a wonderfully full layered tulle skirt (shown here with a crinoline... nto included). Rear metal zipper. Lined. Bodice is boned.

Size: 37" bust, 27" waist, free hips. Approximately 48" from underarm to hem.

Condition: In good condition. A 1/4" slit in the bodice liner. I think the embroidery at the underarms has lightened very slightly. The tulle backing on the halter has a repair and a small hole but they are not visible when on. There is a tear in the outer tulle at the udnerarm however the backing pretty much obscures it (I really doubt you'll notice and the tulle does not feel weak at all). There are some assorted slits to the outer layer of tulle skirting at the hem but they don't stand out due to the other layer of tulle and the gathers... if they bother you, though, the dress could always be shortened a couple of inches to tea length. A pulled embroidery thread.
