Jaw Dropping Edith Head Jean Harlow Fashion Show Gown

Product Description

Created by Edith Head for a fashion show to simulate Jean Harlow. We sold several other pieces from this show years ago (including that wild Joan Woodward costume on the model directly behind Edith Head in the photo) and completely forgot that this one was still boxed and filed. Anyway, the gown is positively stunning... even though it was originally a costume it would make an AMAZING wedding gown. Exquisite body conscious cream chiffon bias gown with a low neck and a scooped back. Floating rear ties and dramatic train. Dress is fully lined in crepe backed silk satin. Bust is HEAVILY padded (pads can be removed). Rear nylon zipper. "Western Costume Co.," label. COA from our original purchase of this gown will be provided stating that this is from the Edith Head Collection. Also included are four long strands of faux pearls that were used with the gown for the show.

Size: 32" bust, the bias cut lends some flexibility to the waist and hip measurements, but best no larger than 26" waist (more ideal at about 24"), best around 34" hips. Approximately 63" from shoulder to hem (approximately 97" to tip of train).

Condition: In good condition. The mannequin's belly button is showing in the photos... this is not a spot on the dress. A faint dirt smudge on the front of the dress. A few tiny picks to the chiffon. There is some yellow at the underarms and some grey smudging at the hem. Very faint smudge on the bust. A small tear along the edge of the train (shortening the train an inch will remove it). Three pea sized orange spots along the edge of the train (again, if you shorten about an inch you wil remove these).
