KNOCKOUT Tiana Pittelle 1950's Halter Dress w/ RED Trim

Product Description

An OUTSTANDING 1950's Hawaiian dress in a very hard to find size. Does VLV still go on? If it does, this would make an AMAZING VLV dress! Black and white printed cotton with gold paint overlay. Print is a little hard to make out... somthing that looks like a tiki hut or maybe a small ship, beetles, flowers, what looks like possibly a kite, etc... Fitted halter bodice with cherry red cotton trim. The cherry red cotton IS original and has original stitching at the back but someone has tacked the band on the sides to orient it more firmly in this direction (could be it was meant to go over or through the bust instead and tie in the middle or it could be that it just didn't stay in place without the tack stitches... anyway, it's GORGEOUS this way and can be worn all sorts of ways). Dress has an incredibly full skirt (shown here with a crinoline... not included). Rear metal zipper. Bodice is faced in white cotton and boned for support. Matching belt is included. Label reads, "Tiana Pittelle Fashion Originator. Waikiki, Honolulu."

Size:37 1/2" bust, 30" waist, free hips. Approximately 42" from underarm to hem.

Condition:In good condition. Some discoloration to the cotton facing INSIDE the halter strap (not visible outside). A tiny pull to the red cotton near the left underarm.
