- Sensational Aqua Silk & Black Tulle 1950's Strapless Ball Gown
A sensational 1950's ball gown in aqua silk satin and black tulle. This is clearly a fine piece though it has no label. Strapless, tuxedo style bodice with self fabric buttons. The center bust opens to reveal a peek of aqua satin underneath. Accordion pleated skirt with curved hem (not perma pleated). Comes with a huge double layer heavy gauge tulle crinoline. Please note that because of the crinoline this dress is quite heavy and will require a larger box for shipping... therefore shipping will be a little higher. An additional aqua silk sash came with the dress.. the way it is constructed I am assuming it belongs draped from the rear waist, but we did not reattach it. Bodice is boned. Rear metal zipper.
Size: 33" bust, 25" waist, free hips. Approximately 51 1/2/54" from underarm to hem.
Condition: In good, wearable condition. The top inside edge of the bodice has been restitched by hand (well done and of no consequence). The exterior layer of the hem is a bit uneven (but it is on the ground and you may yet have to hem to suit you anyway). Discoloration to the aqua satin inside the bodice and the aqua sash (if you choose to use it). There are some small holes in crinoline and a repair, as well.
