Oh my, I love this gown... it is just positively exquisite! Amazing silk in a floral print consisting of lovely yellow poppies, purple dianthus, and a few white daisies peeking out from the brush. Strapless bodice with pleated bust and two bead and rhinestone appliques. Full SWEEPING skirt is partly lined in organza. Label reads, "The Halle Bros. Co. Maurice Rentner." Side metal zipper. 36" bust, 26" waist, full hips. Approximately 53" from underarm to hem. In very good condition but there is a bit of spotting on the hem. To see the rear of this dress, please click here. A note: In the 1940's Maurice Renter was among the highest regarded ready to wear designers, on par with Nettie Rosenstein. Also, during the 1940's Maurice Rentner was chairman of the Fashion Originators Guild. Starting in 1959 Bill Blass was head designer for Maurice Rentner for a few years and later vice president.
