KNOCKOUT Plaid Taffeta 1940's Evening Gown w/ Pale Pink Insets Item v3619 ... Price: $195 SOLD
![]() Just a knockout of a 1940's evening gown! Done in a slightly unusual shade of taffeta... a dark mocha with purple overtones in a very subtle plaid. Fitted bodice with slightly gathered "cuff" and velvet spaghetti straps. Gown has a gorgeous, flowing skirt (shown here with a narrow crinoline... not included) with two pale pink taffeta panels at the front that peek out as you twirl. Side metal zipper. Bodice is boned. Label reads, "Grace Martin. Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles." To see a close up of the bodice, please click here. To see the rear of this dress, please click here. Condition: In good condition. There is one pin hole in the cuff. There are a couple of spots on the pink insets (when you spread the skirt out fully, you can see them, but I doubt you'll see them while the dress is on). There is a heel catch at the very, very edge of the hem in the back. There is one small "v" shaped slit on the back of the skirt (left side, a few inches from the waist). I thought I had seen one other very small hole in the skirt, but I can't locate it again (soooo much taffeta!). |
