SENSATIONAL Red, Burgundy & Pink Silk Taffeta & Tulle 1950's Ball Gown Item v3939 ... Price: $385 SOLD
![]() ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING... An incredible 1950's ball gown done in two pieces. First is a red silk taffeta (with a slight pinkish undertone) gown with a burgundy silk taffeta panel and heavily gathered "bow," wing bust and thin straps. The gown is completely open in the front to reveal the second piece... a heavily gathered double layer pale pink tulle skirt (fully lined). The gown has a side metal zipper. The skirt buttons and hooks in the rear. Bodice is boned. There is a store label for "Schick's. Long Beach," and although a gown so beautiful and so well constructed should also bear a fine designer label, no specific designer labels are found in either piece. To see a full front view of the gown, please click here. To see a close up of the bodice, please click here. To see the rear of this dress, please click here. Condition: In good condition. The tulle is uneven at the hem. There is a quarter sized spot on the taffeta at the right side near the bottom and another faint dime sized spot closer to the hem. There are tiny pin holes on the straps and corners of the bodice (probably from an assortment of brooches). Hard to tell through the shimmer of the silk taffeta... but I think that there might be some super faint (almost nonexistent) marking at the underarm. |
