Item v5585 ... Price: $365 SOLD This dress has been in my personal collection for quite some time and I've finally convinced myself to let it go. The fascinating thing about this piece is that about 2 months after it was purchased I was flipping through a publication containing 1950's fashion show photos and happened to stumble on to a photo of this exact dress in an orange watercolor floral silk taffeta... except the photo was of a Balmain dress. So anyway, I suppose that makes this is a Perlberg knockoff of a Balmain. I've been trying to find the photo to post, but haven't been able to figure out what I did with it... will post it if/when it is located. In any event, this is a work of art in black taffeta. An asymmetrical sculpture with a drape at the left side. Side metal zipper. Functional self fabric button closures. "Dance Originals by Fred Perlberg," label. Size: (need help with your measurements? click here) 36" bust, 27" waist, free hips. Approximately 44 1/2" from shoulder to hem. Condition: In good condition. A tiny scuff to the taffeta at the right shoulder. A small pull where the drape meets the waist. Stress/small hole at the rear of each underarm (one has been repaired partially at some point).
