Item v5855 ... Price: $165 SOLD A charming early 1950's ball gown in rows of ruffled ivory cotton. Heart shaped, fitted bodice with ruffled straps and wrapped waistband. Gown has a VERY full skirt (shown here with a crinoline... not included). Rear metal zipper (zipper is fully functional, the dress was just too snug for the form). Please note that this dress is VERY heavy and will be slightly more to ship. Size: (need help with your measurements? click here) 32" bust, 21 1/2" waist, free hips. Approximately 58" from shoulder to hem. Condition: In wearable condition. This dress was disgusting when we found it (pretty much orange with brown spots). It has been carefully hand cleaned/spotted and looks pretty good now, but it could probably have used a few more minutes of soak time and we just didn't have any more time for it... thus, all of the orange is gone, but where the brown areas were, there are still some yellowish remnants (I think you can see it in the photos). It is cotton and it feels strong, so you could probably go one more round with it if you desire, or you could dye it (tea dyed as a wedding gown this would be GORGEOUS), OR I really think it can be worn as is in a dim lighting situation. For those of you who are "scent-sitive" we're trying out a new green detergent as part of our cleaning arsenal and it does have a bit of a perfumey smell.
