Item v5981 ... Price: $129 A pretty late 1940's/ early 1950's vintage cocktail dress in an iridescent burgundy taffeta (some light it looks plum, some burgundy with a definite bluish undertone). Set-in waist. Ruching at shoulders and underarms. Rear metal zipper. Size: (need help with your measurements? click here) 33" bust, 24" waist, free hips. Approximately 37" from shoulder to hem (short waisted... about 14 1/4" from shoulder to waist). Condition: In good condition. A 1 1/2" slit next to the underarm seam. Pinholes at neckline from a brooch. Ghost stitching at side bodice seams where the dress was let out. Three tiny holes in the skirt. Some seam stress (mostly minor, only really bad at underarm). Tiny holes at the side seams where I'm guessing someone removed belt loops. Really, it looks great and should be wearable once the slit is repaired.
