Item v6561 ... Price: $195 SOLD
A beautiful black lace and tulle 1950's cocktail dress. Fitted, heart shaped bodice with halter strap. The halter strap is a little on the short side and I am wondering if it was either added later or taken up at some point (can be removed or let down a bit easily. Dress has a full lace skirt with a tulle center panel. Bodice is boned. Side metal zipper. "Filcol New York," label. There is an extra strip of lace with the dress (It's possible the dress was hemmed and this and possibly the halter strap were the excess from the skirt) that could be used to make a belt I think (or whatever you choose... a matching hair ornament, could be used to give the dress regular straps instead of a halter, etc...)
Size: (need help with your measurements? click here)
33" bust, 23" waist, free hips. Approximately 39" from underarm to hem. Feels like it might be cut for a petite/shorter woman
Condition: In good condition. Scattered very small holes in the acetate skirt lining, but they do not show through. A couple of teeny, tiny holes in the tulle (both the holes in the tulle and the holes in the lining are hard to see because of the volumem of fabric and the gathers). A small break in the lace on the rear bodice. A small break in the lace under the hook/eye closure at the top of the zipper where I would assume someone missed with the hook.
