Late 40's Claret Silk Satin Dragon & Phoenix Dress Item v894 ... Price: $105  Such a smashing color! A deep, shimmering claret colored oriental silk with black dragons and birds. These fabrics were often brought back to the states by a doting husband/boyfriend/father and then made into Western style dresses (this particular estate had quite a collection of dresses made from these fabulous silks). This particular dress has a graceful neckline, cuffed short sleeves and a swingy skirt with inset panels just below the waist. The sides of the skirt are gathered into two small puffs (sort of a small bustle effect). Truly a wonderful dress! 32" bust, 24" waist, full hips. Approximately 45" from shoulder to hem. The hem has been let down. I have left it this way so that you can decide on the best length. Otherwise the dress is in VERY good condition.
